Carabiner AB has signed a cooperation agreement with DevPort AB to meet the rapid technology shift that is taking place today in the automotive industry and other industries. The new competence center, SafeBase, focuses on providing expert level services, training and coaching within functional safety, as an enabler for safety and quality of the next generation road vehicles.

In a nut shell, functional safety is about identifying and managing safety risks in electronics and software-based systems. The current digital transformation in the automotive industry and the transition to autonomous and electric vehicles drive the complexity of electronic systems and increases the need for competence and complete solutions for challenges associated with functional safety.

”Carabiner has since its start had an edge in functional safety and provides our customers with expert knowledge, complete solutions and training on the different aspects of functional safety. Through the collaboration with DevPort, we now have the opportunity to further develop this concept and reach new customers and industries through DevPort’s channels and digital platforms”, says Babak Rostamzadeh, CEO of Carabiner.

The demand for know-how in the functional safety area is growing and customers have pent-up needs for qualified consultants, technical expertise and to be able to train existing personnel on basic and more advanced level. The cooperation agreement therefore also includes coaching and training services in the functional safety domain. The collaboration gives the two companies the opportunity to tune-in their resources and together provide complete project commitments.

”The collaboration with Carabiner, an engineering company with an edge in the design of embedded systems and functional safety, is important to us, as we see that our customers have an increased need in functional safety in their competence shift and digital transfer. Through this collaboration, we can now support them in addressing the specific functional safety related needs in their transformation”, says Nils Malmros, CEO of DevPort.

”The collaboration agreement gives us a unique position and an opportunity to expand our focus areas and support our customers even more. It is also a part of our strategic plan to provide our customers with dedicated teams in turnkey projects where we will be the guarantor for the know-how in functional safety”, concludes Babak Rostamzadeh, CEO of Carabiner.
